Welcome to Lagganvoulin

Self Catering Cottage, near Tomintoul  in the Scottish Highlands

All of these photographs are taken either within the garden, or within an easy walk from the cottage.  There is only one exception, which is the misty image of hills - that is taken from the road south of the cottage near the Lecht ski centre - about 5 minutes drive.

The vehicle photos show where the track goes over the river at the Lagganvoulin bridge and the track heading downhill from our garden gates - they give an idea of the track to the cottage.

There is lots of wildlife in the garden, and I have tried to capture some of it here in the 'gallery'.  They obviously aren't professional photographers images as some are taken with our photo trap that we use when there is nobody staying at the cottage.

We do run an annual photo competition though!  Guests can submit their favourite photos either via Facebook, or directly to me by email.   They are then considered for inclusion in our yearly calendar, and anybody with a successful entry will get a free calendar for Christmas!

We are constantly upgrading the cottage and so sometimes the 'seasonal' photographs are a little bit out of date - trees felled, trees planted, renovated swings, garden furniture, new windows etc.

If you want to see more photos of the renovations of the cottage or very up-to-date images, then check out our Facebook page - just search Facebook for 'Lagganvoulin'.

Forgive the amount of written detail given on this page... apparently I need to have 300 words on each page of the website for it to be 'visible' for google to make it searchable!  So I am wittering a bit now....

If you do book, please consider leaving us a review - it really helps.  If you don't book, we would love to hear from you - what are we not getting right?
