2022/2023Prices: (Price includes all utilities, firewood, and cleaning* and Wifi.  Since Covid, guests are asked to bring their own linens and towels.  If this is not possible they can be provided for £10 per person.  Please ask at booking.)

Bookings 'in season' are generally Saturday to Saturday, but 'out of season' we can accommodate a Friday changeover, which allows the possibility of weekend bookings to be made outwith peak season.  If you need/want other days, let us know - we try to be flexible when we can.  The prices below are for one week within the stated time period.  Weekend or short stays rates are available upon request.  

Arrival time is usually 4pm and check-out is 10am (although weekend or low season bookings may be able to check-out later).  Second or third weeks are discounted by £60.

Reservations will be confirmed after receipt of £200 deposit, which will be refunded after vacating the cottage.  This deposit confirms your booking, is normally fully refundable, and is in addition to the cost per stay.

Full payment for the cost of the stay is to be received 4 weeks prior to arrival date.  Cancellations within 14 days before arrival, or failure to arrive cannot be refunded unless the cottage is subsequently re-booked.  Failure to pay in full before 4 weeks of arrival will result in the booking period being released to other guests.  Return of deposit will depend on whether the week is successfully re-booked.  

Directions and entry instructions will be emailed/texted/posted prior to arrival.

Payments can be made by cheque or by direct bank transfer (online payments methods may follow in due course).  Bank charges for international transfers must be met by the guest when paying deposit/balance.  Paypal payments can be arranged.

*  Cleaning is included in the price, but we expect the cottage to be left tidy and in a reasonably clean condition.  Any damage, missing items or unreasonable cleaning costs will be deducted from the deposit.  Deposits will be refunded ASAP, but may take up to 2 weeks from your departure date.

Please contact us directly if you are interested in dates over the festive period.  We usually use the cottage ourselves at Christmas, but New Year is sometimes available.

Lagganvoulin, is situated a mile south of Tomintoul, off the A939  to Ballater/Braemar/Lecht.  

It is located all on its own in a secluded spot, 400 meters along a landrover track.  This can make access in winter difficult, but cars can be left in the lay-by on the main road.
